Its also called the little England for the cool climate it enjoys and the picturesque setting of the landscape. It stands at approx: 1900 meters above sea level and enjoys the monsoon from both sides of the country. Well known to the connoisseur tea drinker.

    The tea itself has a unique fragrance and a floral touch to the taste with a light brew in the cup. Mostly consumed straight but some like it with a dash of milk too.

    Nuwara Eliya district is classified as the highest elevation where tea grows in Sri Lanka. The elevation and its location creates an ideal environment for the tea bush growth and also to produce some of the best teas in the world. The flavour is unique only to Nuwara Eliya and thus it does demand a higher price.
    The light and yellow in cup and has a mild pungency and gives out the floral flavour which explodes in your taste buds with every sip of tea. The aroma when the tea is being brewed, fills up your sensors even before you consume it.
