Description
Premium Vietnam Oolong loose leaf tea- Thai Nguyen region new season
Vietnam, as we know is a former communist country and thus still have a fare amount of influence on management and their culture. Most workers and management eat together and enjoy the siesta time mid day. There is no dignity of labour and both management and workers share a good relationship.
The term Oolong is used in a very loose form. The understanding of proper Oolong tea takes lot of travel and experiencing it yourself. Vietnam has rich soil and the product reflects that too. There are various tea producing districts in Vietnam and this product comes from Lam Dong province situated about 250 KM from Ho Chi Minh city. The factory is at a 900 meters above sea level the tea gardens / out grower fields extend up to 1600 meters. By road is will take you at least 4-5 hours as the roads are narrow. We recon this tea is comparable to any of the Chinese or Taiwan products. The tight roll and the colour of the tea can only be achieved by great care and attention.
This is a family-owned factory and employs people from the village of Baolam, and the majority of people in the area are Buddhists. It has around 60 full-time workers and go up to over a hundred depending on the amount of leaf intake. A
I am delighted to support Baolam Dalat as I love the ethos in their factory.
